How to Configure MB SD C4 DoIP

SD C4 Plus support DoIP already come into market for a while. The new SD C4 DoIP is able to work for MB cars with DoIP. It’s the only C4 that supports Ethernet communication (DoIP) at the moment. OBD2TOOL here would like to share the configuration procedure for C4 DoIP set up.
MB SD C4 PLUS DoIP

How to Configure SD C4 DoIP?
Step 1. Go to local network connection.

Step 2. Click Properties.

Step 3. Choose Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), then press OK to continue.

Step 4. Enter IP address.
IP address: 172.29.127.24
Subnet mask: 255.255.0.0

Step 5. Click on Advanced.

Step 6. Click on Add to configure DoIP IP address.

Step 7. Set DoIP IP address to 169.254.0.* (*means, it can be any number between 0-255, like 169.254.0.45).

Step 8. Click on Add, then OK to finish configuration for SD C4 DOIP.

How to use Tech2 program the Central Control Module (CCM)

OBD2TOOL found a good way to solve unable to program the Central Control Module (CCM) using Vetronix Tech2.
Here is the solution.

Models: 1994-1996 Chevrolet Corvette
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/ Concern:
The following process should be used to program a service (replacement) Central Control Module (CCM) on a 1994-1996 Corvette.
It may be found that the option F0 : PROGRAM CCM is not available on the Tech I.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Note: The PCM must be programmed prior to programming the CCM if both have been replaced.
Program PCM
Remove class 2 line from DLC pin position number 2.
Install Tech 2 and request information from the vehicle, download PCM calibration from TIS to the Tech 2 and then upload to the vehicle.
Reinstall class 2 line to the DLC.
Program CCM
Install the Tech 1 with VIM cable adaptor P/N 3000091.
Select programming, model year, 4th digit of the vin, select the module (CCM), Program CCM, select location (North America), enter the rest of the vin, select transmission type, odometer select (miles or kilometers), enter odometer reading, programming is complete.
Note: Tech1 adaptor TA02149 will only work on the 12 pin DLC connectors that are typically found on model year 1993 and prior.

Purchase Piwis 2 or Piwis 3?

It may be an interesting subject, I’m sure there is some information about this out here.
First of all, the Piwis 2 interface is a lot more robust piece of equipment, compared to the cheesy and flimsy looking and feeling interface produced by Actia for Piwis 3.
Originally designed for the VW ODIS system, the VAS 6154 VCI is quite the service needy piece. [Breaks easily] not a hard comparison to make.
Is it worth to purchase Piwis 3 replace Piwis 2 now? Can the Piwis 2 compatible with Piwis 3 Software?
This answer for the question of whether Piwis 3 software can work with Piwis II Samtec HSX Interface ?
Secondly, I thought the Porsche diagnostic tool Piwis 3 for Porsche went cheap. [my humble opinion, way below Porsche standard!]
At the same time, there is a service from Poland and Ukraine [If I remember correctly] that can make the Samtec based Piwis 2 VCI, to work with Piwis 3.
Unfortunately, their charges are just as much and frankly cost prohibitive as the New Piwis 3 VCI. 2-3-4 thousand dollars for these VCIs is simply not reasonable for small operators.
They will come down in price just like the Chinese VCIs did for all manufacturers as the markets get saturated and folks are not buying them as eagerly as at the beginning of the Piwis 3 had.
They will get as much money as the market bares. [as much as people are willing to pay]

Diagnostics application is used for communication with control units. You can search for, identify, code and control program units, read out the event memory, execute complex processes, change drive links and execute routines.
Guided fault finding (GFF) generates a test plan for a fault code. This test plan shows the best sequence for carrying out tests. GFF compiles a list of recommended tests, documents and wiring diagrams
Actual values/input signals functions display you the actual values and input signals of control units
Drive links/tests function displays the drive links of control units, allows you to change the parameters of these drive links and run test routines for individual control units
